# TI LM2917N-8/NOPB: Frequency-to-Voltage Converter With Zener Reference LM2917N-8/NOPB is closely related to the LM2907 but adds an on-chip Zener reference path that simplifies speed-switch and ground-referenced tachometer circuits. It remains a 10 kHz class F/V converter in an 8-PDIP tube pack. Use cases include overspeed relays, fan-fail detectors and simple RPM meters where a stable threshold is more important than a precision DAC. Single-supply bias and ground-referenced inputs keep the external parts count low. Do not drop it into an LM2907-8 footprint without checking the datasheet pin differences around the Zener and output stage. Confirm RoHS /NOPB flow and temperature range before production release.
