If a woman wants to be sure of my intent, she can hold out on the sex. I cannot hold out on paying for the first date to be sure of a woman’s intent. Since there is no way for me to hold out on paying to be sure of her intent without sabotaging my chances to begin with…the onus is on a woman to not take advantage of this unbalanced situation. I believe that any woman who allows a man to pay for a date when she knows she isn’t interested in him is holding an extremely elevated sense of entitlement. By paying for a date, I am showing my interest in you (or I am being polite). Perhaps I should get the same politeness in return by a woman not using me for a free ride if she knows she’s not interested? The bottom line, women allow men they aren’t interested in to pay for the first date because they know they can get away with it. It’s like eating a few strawberries from the bin in the grocery store.
